日本Kaneka将在IMEC设立光伏实验室 双方将合作开发下一代薄膜电池

欧洲领先的纳电子研究中心IMEC和日本领先的化学和太阳能电池制造商Kaneka公司共同宣布双方将展开双边合作。根据合作条款，Kaneka将在IMEC设立其在欧洲的光伏实验室。Kaneka将通过与IMEC的协作进一步改善目前的薄膜太阳能电池，以开发下一代电池。

该合作将帮助Kaneka的太阳能电池制造产能在2015年前达到1GW，在欧洲设立实验室也是为了迎接快速发展的欧洲光伏市场。

ThisagreementfitsinthestrategyofKanekatoexaminetheexpansionofitssolarcellmanufacturingcapacityto1GigaWattby2015.ThedecisiontoestablishaEuropeanlabwasmotivatedbytheneedtohaveapresence,andinfuturealsoaproductionfacility,closetotherapidlygrowingEuropeanPVmarket.“IMECwaschosenasthepreferredR&Dpartnerbecauseofitslongstandingexpertiseandexcellenttrack-recordinphotovoltaics,andbecauseofitsuniqueknowledgeandcapabilitiesinmaterialsprocessingandphotonics;”saysKanekaCorporation’sPresidentKimikazuSugawara.

LucVandenhove,PresidentandCEOofIMEC,states:“WeareextremelyhappythatKanekachoosesIMECasitskeypartnerforitsnewsolarcellresearch.ItemphasizestheprominentroleofIMECinthephotovoltaicsdomain.”

Kaneka’sEuropeanPhotovoltaicsLaboratorywillbethefirstR&DlabofaJapan机床护罩esesolarcell江门manufactureroutsideofJapan.Undertheagreement,ateamofengineersofKanekaandIMECwillinstallandoperateKanekaequipmentinIMEC’sphotovoltaicslabs.Dr.KenjiYamamoto,whowillbemanagingthelaboratory,says:“BycloselycollaboratingwithIMEC’sresearchteamwewillenhanceKaneka’scurrentthin-filmsolarcellsanddevelopanewindustrialhetero-junctionsolarcelltechnology.”

ToenhanceKaneka’samorphoussiliconmicrocrystallinesilicon(a-Si/uc-Si)solarcells,IMEC’ssiliconwaferprocessanddevicetechnologyanditsexpertiseinoptics,micromachiningandphotonicswillbecombined.Thecooperationwillresultinanewindustriala-Si:Hhetero-junctionbasedhigh-efficiencysolarcelltechnology,withanenvisagedefficiencyofbeyond20%forlargecellsinanindustrialprocess.
